About This Workshop

A calm, structured mosaic workshop ideal for mixed-age groups.

Children explore colours from famous artworks — Monet, Van Gogh, Kandinsky — then choose their own colours from a happy memory, a favourite place, or a dream.

With 30+ colours and hundreds of tiles in different shapes, they design a unique mosaic pattern on a natural bamboo coaster base.

No lectures. No complicated theory. Just simple questions: What colours do you see? How do they make you feel?

From Imagination to Emotional Expression

"It's the Harbour Bridge at sunset!"

His Creation

Imagination → Colour Picking → Mosaic → Emotional Expression

During a guided imagination exercise, a boy pictured a scene that made him feel calm and happy.

He chose deep blues, glowing oranges, soft purples that matched those feelings and turned them into a mosaic.

When he revealed it was the Sydney Harbour Bridge at sunset, the educators were amazed.
Later that day, his parent was amazed all over again.

"This is sunrise at the Blue Mountains!"

“The tree outside our OOSH”

Designed by a boy at Epping North OSHC· January 2026

A girl remembered the golden light of an early morning trip to the Blue Mountains.

A boy chose the colours of his favourite spot — the big tree outside the OOSH.

"A maple leaf from the fallen leaves"

A Year 6 girl used premium mosaic leaf pieces to create a stunning, intricate design — one of the most elaborate works from the workshop.
