Mandarin Learning Group

Registration Form

Group Introduction

Epping North Mandarin Literacy Group is a volunteer-run Chinese literacy group under Craft Bay by Claire Guo.

The group has two main goals:

  1. To help children who understand and can speak Chinese but cannot read or write to gradually learn Chinese characters (up to 400 characters), enabling them to read basic storybooks.

  2. To help children who do not understand or speak Chinese to explore the beauty of the Chinese language through pictograph imagination exercises.

Important Note:This group is a supplementary, volunteer-run program. It is designed to support children’s exposure to Mandarin, literacy, and imagination, and is not a replacement for a standard language school curriculum. Families seeking intensive or comprehensive Mandarin instruction should consider enrolling their children in formal language classes.

  4. Places are limited, and extra registrations will be placed on a waiting list.

  5. If my child is not picked up on time, they will be taken to the school’s OSHC for my child’s safety, and any fees incurred will be the responsibility of the parent/guardian.

  6. If a student repeatedly disrupts the group, participation may be reconsidered.

  7. Parents remain responsible for their child during sessions.

  8. I give permission for my child to participate in the Mandarin learning group and related activities.
